“Meant To Be” Music Video

The subject was an “Artist Choice” for a motion graphics project. Because I enjoy making Kinetic Type, I wanted to do something a little different with it like adding videos. Therefore, I made a music video with the Kinetic Typography to show the lyrics of a song for anyone who might want to sing along.

I started thinking of what songs I might use to make this “Sing-Along” video. Then I thought, who would I want to enjoy this? Instantly, I thought of my children and the song they had been singing non-stop for weeks - “Meant to Be” by Florida Georgia Line that features Bebe Rexha. This is a song for anyone that has been hurt and just needs to sit back, relax and enjoy the journey of life. If what you desire is meant to be in your life, then it will. You can’t force it.

Once the song was chosen, I sketched out a few ideas on what scenes I wanted to capture. Next, I started recording my children riding their bikes, jumping on the trampoline, and swinging on the rope. I put all the words together in Photoshop. Finally, I put the recordings, the lyrics, and the song into After Effects so that I could add my own special touches. I had a lot of fun making this project and it will also be something I can cherish forever.
