about

Florida Boxer Rescue (FBR) is an organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and finds boxers their forever home. There are some boxers that are so badly injured that they are unable to be helped and will go to foster homes to live their remaining days in comfort. In both cases, there are extremely high medical bills that need to be paid and FBR is putting together this gala to help raise money just for paying off those costs. They decided to hold the gala at The Art Institute and we were asked to help come up with a campaign for the event.

Some of the elements that they were looking for was a call-to-action for different audiences such as those they wanted at the gala, artists that would donate art for the auction, and those who would donate money to fund the gala since they are a non-profit organization. FBR also wanted gala posters and flyers with an elegant look and feature an image of a piece of artwork they provided.

During my process, I thought of all things elegant and artsy. I finally came up with the idea of bubbles for the gala because they can come from the champagne which would be served at the gala, but also, bubbles are fun just like these boxers they are trying to help. For the Call for Artist, I wanted to make the design bright and bold with a grunge artistic feel. Nothing says grungy art like graffiti on brick walls.

I am very happy with this piece because of all the hard work during the process.
